Enscheff don't start again.

LOL wow. I have reported several folks "starting again" as you requested, and you chime in now?

Several posters have also suggested getting the analytics sub forum open to keep that type of discussion away from the kiddies...and nothing.

The difference he makes in the offense is obvious. Not sure it improves the team though bc of the negative defense. I do know the braves are much more fun to watch when he's out there though. This offense is putrid without him

Yes he makes the offense better. He doesn't make other players hit better. There is a difference.

Hard to say... if FF truly believes kemp behind him helps, then it probably helps him. If not, then no. I do believe there's a mental side to this game

There is a mental side. If he thinks Kemp makes him better then he is dumb. Kemp wasn't the reason Freeman was bearing last year.

If I were in FF's shoes, I'd probably look swing at more pitches if Markakis was behind me then kemp. You don't think FF feels more pressure to drive runs in when kemp is out?

Freeman was doing just fine in June and July of last year with Nick hitting behind him.

Great sign that Swanson has been starting to hit the ball with authority. That may be hte most important thing for the remainder of the year. Need him to be good.

He did do fine...

June -July = .314/.393/.603

August- oct (kemp) = .340/.461/.680

Same deal this year as far as FF's numbers go with and without kemp

Maybe not, it is funny though that FF's ops has been at career peaks while kemp was behind him.

Freeman also set career highs in walk rates with Kemp behind him.

Can you explain how added protection led to more walks? I'm still fuzzy on the whole concept.

Probably a little above your head... like explaining gravity to a 3-year-old

With Freeman I don't think it's the case of he's actually getting protected by Kemp, I think it's more that Kemp is like his safety blanket, and he feels like that if he doesn't get the runners in, Kemp will (even if he doesn't) and it helps him relax at the plate and just let it fly.
