9/28 GDTY: Braves lineup posted before 3 p.m.!

Other Freeman notes. He now owns the longest hit streak for the season at 30. Uggla, who was at the game tonight, owns the Atlanta record at 33. Freeman could set that on Sunday. Freeman also has reached base in 46 games which is tied for the longest of the season this year with Werth.

Shouldn't he also be able to protect his past version of himself in SD, thus increasing his production back then when he was protecting Freeman from SD, thus providing even more protection for Freeman?

SD Kemp being protected by future Atlanta Kemp who is protecting Atlanta Freeman to create the ultimate trans-temporal lineup chain!

Sure sucks to be wrong, doesn't it?

Kemp, Swanson, ???. Will it ever end?

This is interesting, I'd like to hear how exactly I was wrong about kemp and Swanson. It will demonstrate your lack of understanding about the argument.

Well they've both been fantastic and have shown that we can most certainly compete next year. Even Adonis has improved more than you'll ever admit. Probably doesn't hurt that Kemp is in a place he actually wants to be finally.

Just as I suspected. None of that goes against what I said about either player.

I said Kemp would be so bad on defense he would be worth 0-1 wins. Upon seeing his first game with the Braves I said his plate discipline appeared to still be intact. He has been worth negative WAR in his time with the Braves.

I said calling up Swanson now was a suboptimal use of his value since now his age 29 season will either be played somewhere else, or cost the Braves $20m-$25m rather than $10m-$15m. That is an indiaputable fact based on the economics of baseball.

I wasn't wrong in either case, and your statement above isn't even counter to my points. So again, you and clv demonstrate a complete and utter lack of comprehension about the discussion, yet you continue to blather on and on.

After tonight Kemp has been worth 0.4 fWAR with the Braves which comes out to 1.1-1.2 over a full season.

And regarding Swanson as a 29 year old. Something to look at will be what Neil Walker does is FA this year. He will be 3 years older than when Swanson would be a FA but he's a middle infielder who is a 2.5-3.5 WAR player which is what most guess that Swanson will be. He made 10.6 million this year in his final arby year. We shall see what the gap between that and what he signs for yearly will be.

Oh he's just 3 years older than Swanson will be? Is that all?

I don't think I need to explain how those two contracts will be dramatically different. They aren't comparable situations at all.

The difference between 29 and 32 isn't a huge factor in yearly salary. Length of contract is.

And negative bWAR. I still fail to see how I was wrong about Kemp.

For one 1.2 fWAR over a full season (which is what Kemp has played it) is better than 0-1 WAR which you pegged him at. So his play is exceeding what you said of him.

If you think Kemp has been worthless to the Braves because your silly-ass formula says so, you're a ****ing idiot.

DRS is usually more extreme at the ends. So your really bad and good fielders are really high and really low. UZR is usually more compact and probably closer to what's correct. I usually lean towards fWAR for position players.
