Affordable Care Act

With the caveat that the Freedom Caucus pretty much exists to avoid actually legislating, I've been working under the assumption that they're going to trade enough horses to pass the bill. My assumption--if they've got their stuff together--is that they've banked enough votes to allow some moderate "no" votes and still pass it.

If they haven't...yikes. What a weenie-trip that would be.

Looks like some of Obamacare's 'essential benefits' (like birth control) are potentially on the chopping block in a last ditch effort to placate the Freedom Caucus.

It's madness that this wasn't one of the first things removed. Are they that clueless about who voted for them, and how to motivate those people to do so again?

None of us want to see a sick kid or elderly person go without health care. But I also don't know anyone that likes paying for birth control.

Congressional republicans are looking dumber by the second, and have only their own yellow, spineless, backsides to blame.

A coworker keeps raving about a company named AtlasMD he heard about on the radio. $50 per month for unlimited health care for adults, $10 per month for kids. Anyone know the story here?

Well, it's birth control, and hospitalization, and ER, and maternity care, and mental health and substance abuse treatment, etc. so I think it's a little less cut-and-dried, even for Republicans who oppose ACA. There's very little that's simple about this.

In my area a doctor started a private clinic with her husband. I think they charge 99 bucks a month and it's for whole family unlimited visits and prescriptions. It's mainly for basic stuff though. They can't manage blood work and other stuff.

i really can't understand the "i don't like this so i don't have to pay it or my taxes shouldn't go to it"

it's so absurd

Vote apparently going down at 9AM tomorrow.

I'm really curious as to what the final draft is going to look like.

I thought even at his age Trump would be too cool for the two-hand grandpa driving style.

Disappointed. That's not making America great.

Something tells me if Trump doesn't get enough votes in the House he's going to tweet that the voting machines are rigged.

Bannon, Priebus, Mulvaney spotted heading into Ryan's office for Freedom Caucus mtg.
Mulvaney carrying folder labeled "Urgent Action". This is high drama.
