Alberto Callaspo Possibly Being Traded

I doubt the FO is thinking about being buyers or going for it. I think they'd probably get a player with upside that they like if this deal happens.

Again, that is if trade goes through. Callaspo must approve.

WTF. Is the deal on or not?

Sounds like Jim Johnson to me.

Dodgers have a bunch of prospects. I'd love to see who we get if any decent major leaguers are included with Callaspo.

If that MLB pitching is a starter, then it would be Teheran, Wood, Miller or Folty (since the Dodgers would have zero interest in Perez, Cahill or Stultz), then it would be a very major name.

I have a feeling we might be seeing the Braves make their first pitching for long term position player trade. The Dodgers are pretty much the best possible partner for such a trade.

Who are you thinking? Seager? Guerrero?

Jim Johnson makes sense. He's been very good this year and has a track record of being an excellent reliever with the exception of last year and he appears to be past those troubles. Furthermore, he probably should have pitched last night in the bottom of the 8th. The fact that he didn't makes me wonder.

The only thing that doesn't make sense about him is the fact that we're playing .500 ball and he's an important part of the pen which is an area of weakness for us.

Maybe the front office is being as committed to 2017 as possible.

#Braves & #Dodgers were close to finalizing trade involving Callaspo & JUribe last night, as @Ken_Rosenthal reported, but not sure thing now

Atlanta beat writers are the only ones reporting that the trade is on the rocks. Wonder if the Braves are holding out for more (or hoping to give up less).
