Alberto Callaspo Possibly Being Traded

Interesting.

A friend of mine's parents bought a house in Florida... they do all their working and investing here in VA... but he claims FL residency (to be fair he lives down there probably 4 months a year). He also has his cars and what not registered in FL

He will still receive a W-2 if he isn't self-employed for Virginia. He will still benefit from all other Florida tax laws however.

I received a W-2 this year from both CT and NJ but hold residence in NY.

He needs to keep some sort of diary showing he spends more time in FL than VA.

#Braves #Dodgers deal involving Uribe and Callaspo is off, no indication it'll be revived.

Haha. Rejecting the trade because he's not the real piece of the trade to rejecting it because of tax reasons. Some of yall are like school girls talking on the phone about prom night.

Maybe Callaspo likes his teammates and doesn't want to be traded....that does happen ya know

So will we look back and say this was the day Juan Uribe almost became a Brave. I cannot say I am mad that he didn't. I am curious about the prospects involved in the deal and the Major league pitcher.

Good thing Freddi didn't blab about it.

Just ask Freddi!

Fredi: "Yeah, all of the players we would have gotten back are a lot better than the guys we would have traded... better than most of the guys we wouldn't have traded, too... Shame we couldn't pull it off. Oh, the guys we wanted to trade were x, y, and z"

That's strange that he would do that because he would have to pay insane high rates of property tax, but he would have to pay state income tax in VA.

BTW, it might be that Hart and co. thought Uribe could bounce-back a bit before the deadline here and then be traded for something more.

Plus there's this from Bowman:

Though Callaspo is not going to the Dodgers, the #Braves might continue to show interest in Uribe.

I'd like to see the Braves DFA Callaspo and then make sure it's known publicly exactly how much of a tool he is. We give him $3 million on the premise that he's working hard to lose a bunch of weight. He proceeds to show up to Spring Training as fat as ever. Now we get a trade in place 20 days before he loses the right to veto it and he shoots it down.

If I was a GM there's no way I'd consider signing him. Not even if he was offering to pay me to play in AAA. I don't want guys like that on my team.

Well, if we hadn't gone after a ****ty player in the first place and let someone from the system get the playing time, the 3 million deal would have been avoided.
