Anyone cut the cord yet?

I did it once, it was fine. There's things that will annoy you (not having access to some of the more obscure shows and channels that I love) but honestly I probably watch as much or more of Netflix, Hulu and Prime than I do of TV if you ignore watching sports. And honestly half of the time I'm watching TV it's background noise while cooking, cleaning, being on the PC, playing guitar, etc. And it's seemingly mainly watching things I could stream on Netflix and Hulu anyway.

One feature I wish beyond wishes that Netflix would add is a shuffle button. There has to be legal reason why they can't. But it would make marathoning so much more fun. Or at least like pick a random start point.

Yes I've cut the cord and been without cable/satellite for nearly a year. SlingTV kinda sucks. I did the free trial and was not impressed. I mean it's decent for what it is, but it needs a better selection of channel packages. The sports package is great, but the default TV package it comes with is very lacking. But it's getting the industry heading in the right direction and I respect it for that.

Not having network TV kinda sucks. I miss the news and live sports. But I refuse to sign a contract or pay their ridiculous prices for equipment. I watch Netflix, Prime, and catch up on TX shows using web sites like Solarmovie.is

I have never paid for cable. The only time I even had it was when comcast forced me to take it to make my internet cheaper. If I want to watch a thing I will download it and watch it at my leisure.

Given where you live Carpe, a digital antenna should get you network TV. Where I live in the boonies, it's not as easy. As the "local" channels may be beaming from south NH or south/western VT.

Already tried the antenna route. I get zero stations. I was using a 25 mile range antenna, and I know there are towers within 25 miles of my house (which is in the middle of town next a campus).

Apple is announcing thier TV streaming service in June. I expect to it dwarf Sling TV

Had Directv for a long time but I've been without it for almost 2 years and don't miss it at all. I've replaced it with Netflix, Hulu, and already had access to Amazon Prime. Then there's the occasional torrent to supplement those:)
I'm not into sports like I was in the past, being married now I don't have time. Still debating whether to subscribe to MLBtv since I hardly used it last year, but good or bad, at least there's something new about this year's team.

Cut the cord several years ago. Sacrificing a little reliability and quality I could watch whatever I wanted online for free anyways. Not so easy now the government took down megaupload.

For those of you who torrent, how afraid are you of being flagged and fined?

I have read that it's become more prevalent the last couple of years. What measures do you guys take to protect yourself?
