In a short series, I would have taken my chances with the Cardinals over the Dodgers.
Wouldn't matter if Medlen and Teheran pitch again the same way.

What do you think we would need to offer the Brewers for Norichicka Aoki? He is exactly the kind of hitter we need to add to this team. Hits about .285 with a .355 OBP. Doesnt really play good enough defense in center to play there full time or hit for enough power to be a starter at corner outfield but he can steal 20-30 bases and he has struck out only 95 times in 1110 at bats. He's only under contract for 1 year at 1.5 million. He could be the ideal 4th outfield for this team and if BJ continues to fail in 2014 I would be very comfortable benching BJ in favor of Aoki.
Would also like to get Scooter Gennett from them but he hit over his head in his ML debut so they might want more than he is really worth. I think adding those two would give us atleast average production from CF and 2B which is a big step up from the fail that is Uggla and BJ.

Imo had Tehran and Medlen pitched even remotely to their ability we would be playing the Cards. The dodgers are a good team but not impossible to beat, look at how the Cardinals young pitchers shut em down
Holy choke job Batman. Tigers, up 5-1 in the 8th, give up a game-tying grand slam, throw a wild-pitch in the 9th to advance a runner from 2nd to 3rd with 0 outs, and lose on a walk-off single. Sounds like something we'd do to choke away a sure win the playoffs.
Problem is, we're entering only year 2 of BJ's 5 year deal. I think we kinda have to bank on the fact he's going to improve, being a mid market team and all.
I really liked Gennett when I saw him in Atlanta but unfortunately the Brewers have almost the same problems we have and the same strengths. I dont see how we match up with them trade wise.
