Around Baseball 2015 Edition

I don't watch much baseball other than the Braves, but that would be a good one to watch.

Nats probably shouldn't have shut Stras down on their prior run.

Yeah, I think part of their calculation was that they assumed they'd be back and making deep playoff runs for years to come.

If we Braves fans know nothing, we know that you can't take postseason success for granted even if you have a talented club.

Dodgers are still a better team. Their top 2 can be just as good and their offense is better.

I take Kershaw/Greinke all day, every day in a 7-game series over Harvey/Degrom. Though, those two are becoming the anchors of a REALLY good rotation.

I really do believe the Mets are going to win the world series.

Who the heck is going to hit Harvey/Degrom in a seven game series?

They also happen to be dead last in major league baseball in batting average, just saying. Can't see them hitting enough in the playoffs against other teams aces.

They also ahve the 7th highest K% in baseball and 7th worst team WRC+. I've been told by others that offenses like this can't win in the playoffs. So I fully see the Mets getting bounced in the first round.

thethe has assured us that the game has changed.

yet now he's picking the Mets to win it all

Using season stats for the Mets is silly. They've had quite a bit of roster turnover. Another example of how stats don't tell the whole story.

That small sample does not change the fact that using their season numbers is irrelevant to what type of offensive club they are now.

They are still a high strikeout team which has remained consistant regardless of who has been on their team. Can those teams have success in the playoffs?

With their ridiculius pitching? Mostly anything can win with 2 of the top 10 pitchers in baseball.

So you think the key to winning is pitching?

Tell that to the Braves... Or the Dodgers... Or the Tigers

There's no magic formula. It's mostly luck
