Around Baseball 2015 Edition

Well that settles it. The Marlins are going to out WAR us. Might as well forfeit the rest of the games since they are played on paper.

This is kinda nonsense.

Rough estimate:

Salty 1.5 WAR
Morse 1.5 WAR
Gordon 2.0 WAR
Hechavarria 0.5 WAR
Prado 2.5 WAR
Yelich 4 WAR
Ozuna 3 WAR
Stanton 5.5 WAR

We don't have that kind of position player talent outside of Freeman/Simmons. The remaining guys in the lineup are probably 1.5 tops.

Seems you went a little high on some guys.
Salty has put up 1.5 WAR once. He was 0 last year.
Morse has hit 1.5 WAR once as well. He was at 1 last year, and negative the year before. He isn't good.
Gordon's 2.4 last year was carried by his first half; his 2nd half was bad. We'll see on him.
Prado could have one of his stinker seasons.
What if Salty and Morse are negatives? Very possible.

I don't see why Markakis can't put up a 2+ WAR season.
And the point is, our pitching can easily close whatever gap there is in our offenses. Point was they aren't clearly better, if at all.

Marlins have a much better lineup, i dont see how that is even debateable.

In a few months once the clocks dont start, im interested if the Braves call up Wisler or someone else to replace Stults assuming Minor is still out.

Who finishes better, idk.

What I am saying is WAR is a mostly useless stat.

You should know that only certain stats matter. These stats are the ones that the stat heads (gilesfan) say are important. If someone posts a stat that doesn't show how awesome analytics are, that person is generally ridiculed and told their star is ancient.

I challenge you to contradict anything I say intelligently.
