Around Baseball 2015 Edition

At this point, what does he have to lose? If I were him, hell yes I'd still be on it.

Isn't he heading close to a ban from baseball? Or did his last suspension not count as a ban for testing positive for steroids so he has one more to play with?

Not sure about the ban, but he's already been caught, has mega millions, currently has no chance of getting into the HOF and I doubt he can tarnish his name any further. Let's say he tests positive this year, other that losing a (relatively) small amount of money and being banned from playing again, vs. being cheered on as he has a comeback player of the year season. He'd be much better off risking getting caught again vs. stinking up the joint and getting booed on a nightly basis.

What's up with Kansas City? Was Lawrie's slide so grievous that it had to cause an all out war?

Watched Heyward's AB in Stl game, i dont see much difference in his swing from last year and now....

Honestly, Heyward really doesn't look good at all. I only want the best for the guy, but he's look pretty bad. His homer yesterday was a thing of beauty, but he kind of just ran into it.

Heyward is just pressing a bit right now IMO because he is on a new team. He iwll never be a good/consistent hitter but he is much better than what he has shown this year so far.

He has started slow several years in a row now. He was usually with BJ and Uggla fighting to break .200 in June. Will be real interesting to see what kind of contract he gets if he has another average offensive season.

He has to be pressing right now because his AB's look even worse than last year. Even if he has another offensive year that he had last year I have my doubts he is going to get what he thinks. Maybe he should have just taken what hte Braves were originally offering him!

It's absurd. Why can Bryant and Russell be called up now and get one more year of control? It should be pushed back until at least June 1st.

Because if the Cubs get good again they can print money. They will extend these two for 8 years and buy out all their good years.

But still, we're talking about 13 games. Why do they get 1 more year of control for waiting less than 3 weeks? Baseball is what 40 weeks long or so? Why not at least make them wait 10 weeks?

I totally mis-read your post.

Yeah, the baseball rules are crazy.

Not even sure why the Cubs care since they will extend those guys like the Braves extended their core.
