Both DH; Is 1/3 of a season of base running really capable of providing 1 WAR of additional value?

Yup. This was the worst season to have s star player (let alone two) go down from a money perspective with Kelenic. A lot of money is tied up into him that could have helped replace Acuna or Strider. Arcia is also looking like an upgrade candidate.

That's what I was trying to drive at. When you are butted up against the highest salary tier, you lose a lot of flexibility.

Kelenic may turn out fine and he's an upgrade over Rosario. I thought the more direct route would have been to land Verdugo and then let him walk at the end of the 2024 season, but that would have required prospect capital to do and given the lack of depth in the minor league system, I do understand that the contract shuffling to land Kelenic was a doable route.

Not sure what baseball ref uses for all their calculations. But the difference is only 0.6 when using fWAR. But yeah Ohtani is really good and Ozuna is really bad at running the bases. Right now it's about a 3.3 run difference on the bases. fWAR rates Ohtani slightly better as a hitter (Ohtani has 20 more PAs) and he has a 2 run advantage there.

I would imagine much of the discrepancy can be attributed to Ohtani having 21 more PAs, 11 more hits, and more extra base hits.

Brian Anderson to the braves. We no longer need anyone.... he's about to go 2019 again

Man we got all the old “wants” in the system now. Wendle, Laureano, and now Anderson. Next we Will eventually get Bryan Reynolds finally after he declines.

He is like 16 strikeouts away from 3000. Someone has to sign this man.

Bill Shanks never revealed who his "mystery player" that the Braves were always on the brink of acquiring was, but the consensus on the old Scout board was that it was Greinke.

Looking at Greinke's stats, is he a HOF candidate? About in the same career bWAR tier as Verlander and Scherzer. 11 bWAR more than Don Sutton and 13 bWAR more than Hallady, both of whom are in the HOF. Greinke played for some good teams, but also some really crappy teams.
