Around Baseball 2024 edition

I imagine this is exactly what the MLB had in mind when they expanded the playoffs. In the NL, it's likely that all 3 WC teams will finish with at least 90 wins. The top team out will likely finish with at least 88 wins. The AL playoffs are basically determined aside from seeding, though the Red Sox and Tigers have a very slim chance.
 
The Dodgers Gavin Stone goes on the DL with shoulder inflammation. Sounds like he is done for the year. Big blow for the Dodgers. He was the rock in that rotation all year. Yammamoto is scheduled to come back Tuesday but I don't think he has had any rehab starts. On regular 4 days rest he would pitch game 3 vs Braves. Maybe they hold him back an extra day but they don't have many options right now. Also Teoscar Hernandez is said to be likely to go on the DL which would mean missing series vs Braves. Flaherty is currently liked up to pitch game 1 vs Braves.

Forget that series... we can't hold them to 2-3 runs which is the only way we can win
 
Mr Glass Tyler Glasnow not likely to return this season due to an elbow strain. Not making it through the season shocks no one but the Dodgers.
 
Morton is going up against Buehler who is one of the worst SP to get more than 10 starts this year. Like a 2.25 HR per 9. So of course he will shut us down.
 
Braves are, what....0-4 on Sunday Night Baseball this year?

L vs. Rangers (AAAA Vines starts)
L vs. Padres (Elder gets blown out)
L at Mets (Nimmo Walk-off)
L at Phillies (Castellanos Walk-off)

It was done this was because MLB feared that if they had that much suck on one game that it would suck in the entire universe and everything would cease to exist. The Angels aren't the worst team but they are the worst team that entered the year thinking they had a non zero chance of making the playoffs.

His surface stats don't look terrible (1.357 WHIP largely due to walk rate) and his FIP is more than one run below his ERA. That said, I'm sure the Orioles have more data on which to make an informed decision. He's been all over the place (both in geographical and performance terms) since leaving Atlanta. I'm assuming he'll get another shot somewhere in 2025 unless he wants to hang it up.
 
Victor Vodnik is having a vaguely respectable season, considering he's pitching in Coors. Too many walks, but a 108 ERA+ isn't anything to be ashamed of.
