he came back from that injury and had an ops over .800 for the following 2 seasons.. then he didn't get a contract because the owners were trying to drive down salaries.. played a year in Japan and then a shoulder injury ended his career.

DBags have their second best SP going on Friday. Saturday would be Montgomery with his 6+ ERA and then Sunday would be Rodgiguez's regular start with his 5+ ERA. Although they could move Pfaadt up for that last game. Very good chance they lose 1 or 2 games in this series.

But they are facing Martin Pérez in game one, and I don’t think the Padres will have anything to play for. Plus, the DBacks are at home if that means anything.

Dont we get an extra player for a DH. Maybe we could bring up AJSS to either start a game or just eat some innings out of the pen. We might have to play both games but I dont know that both will matter to making the playoffs. Maybe we finally see the return of Ian Anderson.

We do not get an extra player. We already have 2 extra players on the roster

Or old buddy Mike Soroka as a reliever this year 33 IP 3.00 ERA 15 K/9 and 5.45 BB/9. He might make a career as a reliever. Walk rate is high but he was pitching on average over 2 innings per appearance and everyone is worse on the White Sox. If its cheap I wouldnt mind brining him in to replace Uncle Jesse next year. I cant imagine he will be expensive.
