Around Baseball 2024 edition

It's like the playoffs are a crapshoot and no real strategy to be successful. Whatever happens in a given playoffs is the new narrative.

But the baseball gods are real. And if the Phillies go down in the same fashion the Braves did the last two years, it'll be because of all that **** they talked.

Looks like Carlos Mendoza went to the Brian Snitker School of Bullpen Mismanagement. I don't know if he had anyone warming up in the bottom of the 6th, but the minute Turner got on, they should have had someone ready to face Harper. Maybe it makes a difference and maybe it doesn't, but Mendoza must have been just looking at the pitch count.

I have always held out hope that baseball would somehow remain the most dignified of professional sports, but after watching the Dodgers/Padres last night I now see that it has also devolved into MMA. I'm surprised that Tatis, Jr., doesn't do a Heisman pose after doing just about anything.

I didn't appreciate how animated he is out there. Makes Acuna look pretty docile at times.
