That's too bad then. I had hopes for him and Pierre (3000 hits) a few years ago. Seeing guys with normal HOF stats not get in because counting stats are overrated.

I wasn't contending he was. I was only stating that if he does indeed retire at the end of the year, he will be short of 500 HRs barring the great monthly performance by a hitter in the history of baseball.

Adam Dunn hit a two run bomb in his first AB for the A's. I must say that was pretty cool, led to a 5-run first for A's and all the runs after two outs. I wonder how much he'll help their offense, looks like a decent pick-up for them either way as they needed a boost in offense. I'm just not sure how much Dunn has left in the tank.
