Around the Majors - 2022 Version

Is that really the play? I thought Thornburg looked decent in his time here. Definitely could do worse for a back end guy.

Complex league.

They won't assign kids that young to full season ball unless they're UNBELIEVABLY special - and not likely even then until they've had some success in the complex league.

Diego Benitez likely in this category as well.

???

9.3 IP, 6 runs, 10Ks against 5 BBs.

I get that Snitker didn't use him, but also not exactly sure that helps much.

Point is, Thornburg is a back end guy, and he’s fine in that role. I don’t see how Lee is much of an upgrade if at all.

I don't think either will (or would have) be used much regardless - Snitker ALWAYS seems to have at least one guy he doesn't use for weeks at a time just before inexplicably running them out there in a tight situation and expecting them to perform well.

See Tomlin, Josh.

I mean, Josh Tomlin was a mop up guy and a terrible one at that. He had no business being on the roster. Not apples to apples.

Not exactly sure Thornburg had shown them much more than that - they were using O'Day and Chavez before even thinking about going to Thornburg as a last resort.
