Certainly not one that seeks to radically redefine the definition of the word infrastructure. One that was actually meant to rebuild and expand crumbling and overly congested roads and bridges would have had a great chance. The ongoing and worsening cargo ship backlog provided a great opportunity to improve port infrastructure. Instead we were offered environmental justice, tree equity, an expansion of federal government childcare, and lots of climate change spending. And 87,000 IRS workers.

National defense is a Constitutional duty of the federal government. So is interstate commerce. The majority of the BBB money is targeted at things that are not.
 
I wonder if 57 understands the composition of total tax revenues and what their sources are?

I’m not against changing the tax code but pretending that wealthy people pay zero into the tax pool is such a brain dead position I don’t know where to begin.

This bill isn’t getting passed because it doesn’t have full (D) support…unless you think Manchin’s goal is to make Biden a one term President …
 
Senate is in recess until 2022. ( ???)
We will have to see if it is back on the table

To answer not the question you asked ---- yes I would like to see the policies enacted

Don’t blame Manchin for BBB’s demise. If Congress actually had a robust debate and amendment process, this would have been sorted out months ago. Having the oligarchy write a bill and then twist arms has always been, and will always be, unrepresentative, stupid, and dangerous.

Calls on Biden to use executive action as broadly as he can.

Also points out that the reason Dems are forced to work w such

slim margins is that there are no GOP votes to lower insulin prices/

to mitigate climate change/for universal pre-k/for elder care, etc.
