This is trivial, compared to the price we’re paying for his incompetence

and irresponsibility. But isn’t it true that Trump almost nowhere bothers

to stop to express sympathy for those who’ve contracted the virus?

Or appreciation for doctors, nurses and others on the front lines?

"And it's actually a fascinating progressive moment,

because what it's shown is that all of these issues have

never been about how are you going to pay for it.

It's never been about whether we have the capacity

to do these things or if the logistics have worked out...

...All of these excuses that we have been given as to

why we cannot treat people humanely have suddenly gone

up in smoke. And what has been revealed is that all of these

issues were really about a lack of political will and who you

deemed worthy to be in an emergency or not...

...Because to me in New York city, the highest rates of homelessness

since the great depression has been in emergency for a very long time,

and we have had to have been pushing for housing as

a human right for a very long time...

...Now that we are experiencing everybody who's threatened by

the uncertainty of this moment, everyone's realizing, wait,

we are all in this together...

...and that applies not just to issues of, of economic prosperity,

but it also applies to issues of criminal justice, of civil rights,

of human rights."

Just imagine Donald Trump in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. We can’t afford that kind of risk.

The greatest country on earth, in the era of Trump, cannot figure out how

to manufacture hand sanitizer or a virus testing kit.

Four weeks after the outbreak started to escalate.

"I want them to be appreciative,"

Trump says of what he wants from Democratic governors. He wants groveling and obedience or he will punish you. Why even have a country anymore, really?

Michigan is still waiting on him to act on its request for an emergency declaration.

Petty. Petty.

But not surprising.

Trump asked about what governors can do to enable fed assistance: "very simple, I want them to be appreciative-I don't want them to say things that aren't true, I want them to be appreciative."

There's the threat folks, if they call out Trump's lies, their states will suffer.

The same Puerto Rico that illegally hid supplies provided by the US?

Did you ever discuss that?

One month ago, Trump told Americans that there would soon be zero

coronavirus cases in the United States.

Now he’s saying he will claim victory if 100,000 Americans die.

Nearly a month after Trump stood at the CDC and announced

"anyone who needs a test can get a test," an HHS official is in the

Rose Garden explaining why we still have to prioritize testing

on people in the most need,

like those who are hospitalized.

Trump 1 month ago:

"There’s no reason to panic at all."
"If you’re healthy, you will probably go through a process and you’ll be fine."
"Tremendous amounts of supplies are already on hand."
"The markets are very strong."

Almost everyone was saying the same thing.

The top health official in NYC was begging people live life as usual.

Pelosi was telling everyone there is nothing to be worried, to be in public as normal

The amazing WHO was assuring everyone that China confirmed that its not transmittable from human to human contact

The list goes on and on.

Trump was wrong. Everyone was wrong. The constant effort to score political points must be exhausting, isn't it? Especially when it appears that effort is massively backfiring in Trump's favor.

President Donald Trump has made it clear his administration isn't planning to allow any additional outside aid to get into Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
-Newsweek

After ending days of relative silence, US president Donald Trump and his administration are scrambling to show he cares about Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria completely devastated the island.
- Quartz

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO — The Trump administration is rushing military hardware and personnel to Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands as it becomes increasingly clear that the U.S. government response to Hurricane Maria so far has been inadequate and overmatched by the scale of the disaster
- Washington Post

Trump’s leadership in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria has not only been absent, but in the few instances that Trump has mentioned the U.S. territory, he has delivered only blabber that passes for presidential speech, and has proposed no solutions.
-Miami Herald

Amid criticism, Trump ramps up Puerto Rico response
-CNN

The Trump administration on Tuesday said there was no need to waive shipping restrictions to help get fuel and supplies to storm-ravaged Puerto Rico, because it would do nothing to address the island’s main impediment to shipping, damaged ports.
