BILLY HAMILTON IS A BRAVE

Wow. I guess Webb’s injury was worse than we thought. Explains why he wasn’t up here yet.

This feels like a flexibility move that Anthopoulos had in his back pocket. As such, it’s also illustrative of the FO’s estimations re Parsons—that he was DFA’d for Hechavarría, when this move was on the table, demonstrates there wasn’t much hope he’d contribute to the major-league roster.

i called our picking him up and placing a pitcher on the 60-day DL in the other thread. i thought we might wait till he was released to do so though. Funny it happened hours after my post today about it, lol.

Hamilton can't hit himself out of a wet paper bag.

AA added him to be a pinch runner who can back-up CF. It was going to be him or Lane Adams but once Ender got hurt that made Hamilton a better fit as he is much better in CF. Plus Adams is just now getting back in game shape so maybe wouldn't be ready anytime soon.

Hamilton has great range in CF and has saved 9 runs in CF so far this year. He can steal bases with the best of them too.

He’s fast and good on d. I like the move.

It’s a money only move. I like liberty paying money. It seems like a high cost and I hate the million buy out next year. But if liberty is going to pay then I think it’s a good move.

A team without a true backup in CF claimed a CFer on waivers.

That limb was pretty thick you went out on.

We actually already had more of a back-up now than most of the season Ender was hurt. Ortego has experience in CF and is good there. But he isn't plus plus there like Hamilton nor can he steal bases like him.

That said, it was a good call and you didn't make it so shut the **** up asshole.

I don’t think anyone cares whether or not the Braves picked up Hamilton or not, so nobody bothered to give it a second thought.

Gratz on being right once though!

Yea, no one cares and this thread nor the other doesn't exist. You can save the childish nonsense, I am going back to ignoring you now.

I hoped this would happen when he became available, but then someone reminded me that Lane Adams had been signed. I think with Adams and Ortego Hamilton was unnecessary, but we've seen the value of depth this year.
