BRAVES FINAL DRAFT SIGNING BOARD: Backstrom on board!

I love the first two picks! Too lazy to look up info on the 60th pick but it seems like another versatility pick. Remember AA came from the Dodgers and all of the versatile and interchangeable parts they have.

MLB Network indicates that Tanner Gordon is draft eligible sophomore in part because he spent two years on his Mormon mission. Older draft pick, turns 22 in October.

Scouted by Dale Murphy?

To the sophomore/junior question, The Baseball Cube has Gordon pitching two years at John A. Logan JC and a year at Indiana U. That would make him a junior unless The Baseball Cube has screwed up.

Tigers take Zack Hess, and rico’s re-draft dream is dead.

I’ll throw this here, since I initially dropped it in the wrong thread:

Tall righty from Champaign-Urbana, junior from Indiana, good K/BB rate.

JUCO transfer from the same school (John A Logan) from which Trey Riley was selected. I’m guessing the Braves first noticed him there.

seems like we have picked several players today who will require bonuses that exceed slot

I’m guessing he’ll be devastated if the Braves skip him straight to Danville and he doesn’t get to go to Orlando.
