BRAVES FINAL DRAFT SIGNING BOARD: Backstrom on board!

Wow. Unless DeVito, Milligan or Parker are massively overslot, I’m pretty confident we’re sigining Backstrom and Estes. Starting to wonder if some of the later prep players are in play.

Concerning the later round prep players, this is usually an either/or situation. If Backstrom and Estes fail to sign, that money will go directly into offers for the later prep guys, and the team likely has as priority on who is offered what first.

Another late-rd over slot signing for the
@Braves
: 24th-rder Bryce Ball for $197,500 ($72,500 counts vs pool). Dallas Baptist 1B, 325/443/614 with 18 HR this spring.
@MLBDraft

This one's exciting. Dallas Baptist has some good juju going right now.

Big fan of this strategy. Sounds like a bunch of high ceiling guys were just added at a time where there is a major deficiency in talent at the lower levels. Tracking the rookie/A ball leagues will be much more interesting starting in July.

Well done AA.

Webber Intl. University has posted a signing photo of 34th round pick Willie Carter signing his Braves contract. Posted on the 12th; sorry I missed it.

It appears 22nd round pick Alex Segal (RHP Wichita State) signed at the same time and place as Carter. We have 28 signings confirmed at this point. Still working it.

Only the amount over $125,000 is counted, so we really have quite the sum of money left assuming none of the college guys we’ve signed are way over slot.

Roughly $760,610 left depending on whether anyone else exceeded $125,000?

Blow it out for Backstrom if you can't get both of them AA.

ooo an inside scoop...thanks!

Trying to indicate the source of any signing info I get since everyone else seems to be waiting for Jim Callis and the Braves to spoon feed it to them. I have not contacted any draftee directly. This ain't that important.

Three 35s and a bunch of unrated. If that’s what floats your boat...
