Braves in talks with DBacks for Trevor Cahill

RESULTS ARE IN!:
Mets win the East.
Braves 2nd.
Nationals suck.
Heyward is worse than Garrett Anderson.

The funny part is, trying to claim it's just this year that we are basing it off of and ignoring the previous years/stats.

Do you though.

Markakis has an ISOSLG of .023 lollllllll

Unless you think he's going to hit 380 this year, I'd say your tune is going to be different in a month.

He's also been a negative in the field

And he won't maintain a .023 isoSLG either. At least be consistent with your argument.

But yes, Cahill is hot garbage right now. Roger has his work cut out for him with Cahill. I still think he has talent, but when he starts missing his spots, then stuff like the 5th inning happens. Yes he got unlucky with the Gosselin error but he was pitching terrible that inning regardless.

For those of us who actually have a small sample, calling it a "game" is trivializing and hurtful.

It makes sense that they knew something was wrong with Cahill when they got him, and they're trying to fix it. They might fail but we lost pretty much nothing, so whatever.

He looks really good for stretches.

The announcing crew was saying he would lose his release point or arm slot from inning to inning and struggled staying consistent with it in ARZ. I don't remember which one, but it makes sense with the runs of good work and then extreme blow ups we have seen.

His GB rate has been one of the best so far in his career but he needs to stop walking people as much. Thats a huge issue. Walk rate is the highest of his career.

Cahill is more or less a sunk cost. Braves will probably wind up cutting him if he doesn't improve. He is averaging just over 4 IP per start, walking more guys than striking out, giving up more liners than at any point in his career, I guess you can say it's a good thing he's not giving up homers. But how much crap can you take. He's not cutting it on so many levels. When we get guys back or start promoting from the minors he's second on the block behind Stults. Though I think we'll move Stults to the pen, that's just a guess though.

I have got to think Wisler, and perhaps even Martin are in the rotation by mid-summer. Cahill and Stults were worth a look to see if they could bounce back. Nothing lost but a few games while finding out who they are at this point in their careers.

Hart's master plan? Starting pitching should be a strength going into this year so he makes sure that we tank the season by acquiring this worthless piece of goo to go out there and fail every 5th day, all the while saving service time for the high upside arms in the minors. And then for those games that we do play well, and have a lead late, well we have BIG JIM JOHNSON to make sure that we have the lead no more.

I'm not sure our bullpen can afford to lose Martin. Sadly, we have so little that's working I'd be afraid to change one of the few things that is.

But Cahill's replacement has to be something they're working on.

I imagine his replacement will be Wisler if they can't figure out what's wrong and help him make adjustments.

I find him useful.

I was explaining to Lil Guv the importance of burying your off speed stuff, and - presto ipso facto! - Cahill throws an 81 mph change belt high to Ryan Howard.

Verbalized, demonstrate, reinforce. Thanks, Trevor.
