Braves interested in CK and DK

I am sure it’s been talked about, but what are expectations before either one is actually ready to pitch?

According to Broas, DK will be ready within a week. Said he has been pitching simulated games for awhile. Not sure about Kimbrel but I have to assume it's the same time table.

A BP arm should be able to ramp up more quickly than a SP.

I’m guessing DK will need at least 2 starts in AAA, while CK may only need a couple appearances in AAA to be deemed ready.

I have heard that about DK, but honestly what is his agent going to say? His only interest is getting maximum value for his client. Although I think that ship has sailed.

I think the Twins are a team that could add one of these guys. Word is there was some interest months ago and Kimbrel liked them or something. They (Twins) are in a similar situation to what many here thought about the Braves last season. Their window was opening sooner than anticipated.

Riley will be a .780 OPS hitter at the end of the year with bad defense.

Acuna will finish with an OPS below .850.

Donaldson won’t hit 20 homers.

Soroka will be the only Braves starting pitcher with an ERA below 3.80.

Braves will finish with 84 wins and miss the playoffs.

MLB trade rumors was saying multiple executives are expressing doubt either will be able to pitch before July.

I'm not so sure you can be SURE it won't happen until it doesn't. I think we have a better shot at Keuchel, actually, but we'll see.

Well Keuchel seems to be okay with a 1 year deal, and i think Kimbrel wants a multi year deal and i dont see AA doing that.

Kimbrel wont be a Brave.

Newk-Touki-Webb-Minter-Jackson with Swarkak/Winkler in MR.

Kimbrel - closer
Jackson - 8th
Minter - 7th
Newk- LR/multi-inning
Touki- LR/multi-inning
Webb- situational
Swarzak- MR
Winkler- MR

Webb can be used in a high leverage situation for 1 or 2 outs when we are in trouble. Or take the 7th/8th depending on usage...

I’d still like to pick up a lefty specialist..

But that pen becomes a strength

If you sign Kimbrel, not sure there's alot of money left for another arm. You'd probably have to get the trading team to eat the contract but the return would cost alot more without it.

Say the Giants for Tony Watson or Will Smith (hypothetical).

I doubt CK wants a multi year deal unless, it's 3 years guaranteed at 15 million in AAV at least. I'd be willing to be he wants the highest 1 year offer he can get and then go after a multi year deal in FA. If he pitches well and stays healthy, it's pretty likely he at least matches what Zach Britton got this past off-season. It's even possible a dumb team with money to burn gives him the big contract he really wants at 60+ million.
