Boston vetoed it because they wanted someone to pay the entire contract. It makes sense because a Boston reporter said that a different deal was vetoed before the Giants deal happened. AND the Red Sox said in their press conference that they did not accept the best offer they got but they accepted the best offer for the Red Sox. They just wanted his entire contract gone.

Take it as you will, but it makes sense and he's given me accurate stuff in the past.

This deal at least now makes a little sense with Boston kicking in some cash.

While I like the idea of flipping Murphy to fill another need, I dislike the idea of using his value to get another DH. He needs to be used to fill SS or OF, not for another DH-only guy.

Let me help you out. The Braves would get a small short term benefit at a huge cost in the future.

That is a very bad deal.
