This is quickly turning into a silly semantics argument over the meaning of the word "routine", but I expect a competent OFer to catch a ball with a 75% catch probability. I suspect all of Harris, White, Fairchild, and probably Verdugo would have made that play.
I'm sorry if that hurts anyone's feelings. Acuna is still amazing, but that play should have been made, and he's been a below average OFer for a while now.

We all know Acuna has below avg range with a great arm. He's just fine in RF.

It probably wasn't "routine" but it was very clearly a play that should have been made, and I think "the play should have been made" is the point he was trying to make.

It's not a routine play. It's a play that an average outfielder makes 75% of the time. msstate incorrectly assumed the .040 xba meant it was an easy play. Not sure why you are trying to white knight him.

But Acuna doesn't have average range. So should he have really? It's probablly a 50/50 ball for him.

Funny enough. That ball has a 95% catch probability and was a 1 star catch. Almost routine!
