Bleh, not crazy about this move. I like Jimenez ok, but that seems pricey for what he is.

It does seem a little high but he got better as the year went on. AA has always liked the guy. Wish it would have been for 2 years instead but I trust AA. Get another elite arm out there next.

Pretty much market for a low 3 era guy.

Uses most of the Colin Mcewww money.

Yup. The Braves also have some money to play with and really don't HAVE to use much on the offense/field. So, it's mainly going to pitching. He was strong down the stretch - it's worth it.

I mean he's probably our 7th inning guy... pretty good for that role tbh unless we play mix and match with Minty Hippo.

Where did that moniker come from and where did it go by the way?

Iglesias
Minter
Jimenez
Johnson
Matzek
Tonkin

Thats where we sit right now with the pen. Will be interesting to see how AA rounds it out. Chavez could be back on a minor league deal. Daysbel Hernandez could be an option. We didn't get any better bringing back Johnson and Jiminez....I still want at least 1 more impact arm back there.....

Yeah this is too much money committed to middle relief options. Why pay these guys this money when they were so cheap to acquire. Rather they go find the next Johnson and Jimenez instead.

I mean, AA probably thought of this....no?

I don’t know, man. Between Jimenez and Johnson this is a lot of money and years for sub-elite bullpen arms, especially for a team with real needs elsewhere.

My thought as well. The third year for a 270 pound guy who wasn't very good until 2022 is the puzzler for me. Curious where they go from here.

Thats not quite accurate. We're probably more like right now.

I'm good with what we have from the left side and I expect Yates will have his option picked up and will be even better next year. If we can bring back Chavez I think we'll be pretty solid

A lot of folks banking on a successful return for Matzek. Not saying it won't happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if they combed the list for another possible LHP or two as bullpen candidates. What's Sam Freeman doing these days?
