Braves sign Pierzynski

If neither would re-sign before the season, before FA, what is the use of keeping them for?

At BEST, make the WC which a 1 game crapshoot.

Fredi is on the last year of his deal, if we suck which is likely he'll be gone and everyone will throw a party for it.

Said it before, some of yall really overrate both of them especially Heyward, awesome player but yall act like he isnt far from Trout.

Fair enough. It's still hard to watch them go.

That's the best possible outcome from this, but I'm pretty sure what we will see is the opposite of Fredi being punished for managing this team. I think they'll probably announce an extension soon or have already promised him that he will be a part of that magical 2017. Sure, it's like putting two pairs of boots on your prized racing horse before the gun goes off, but that's how it'll likely go down. A twisted ankle (or four) will be the best we can hope for.

Sadly i can see that happen.

I guess but I would rather sign at least one of them to a long term deal. I would have kept Hayward if anyway possible.

Understood but according to ramadon if he's right, sounds like Heyward wanted a lot of moola.

Exactly. People are resigned to the idea we can't afford Jason. We isgned Markakis to 4/44 or whatever, and have Uggla's 13M coming off the books, you're telling me we couldn't find 24 or slightly more millino a year? I found it. What it indicates to me is they don't want that. They want Heyward gone, they want Justin gone, they want to build the team around guys who have some magical quality that isn't quantifiable like they seem to think the 90s were built around. Ignoring our 90s run was populated with very talented hitters, Chipper, Gant, Pendleton, Justice, McGriff, Klesko, Javy, Andruw, etc. We regularly had 2 or more stars on the team offensively. Sure not every year, but regularly we did. You can stop runs with great pitching, but you have to score runs and gutting our offense is not the way to do that. In terms of offensive production we were not very good, we're now probably gonna be one of the worst offensive teams in baseball. Especially if we trade Gattis which seems a virtual given.

And I have a cousin who has a friend who works at the Starbucks next door to the Honeybaked Ham Co. that heard through the glory hole in the store bathroom and emailed me about it.

Wow! My friend, Jim Lunsford is the one who talked with Fredi. it is firsthand, not second or third hand. Thought you may find it interesting but instead, you have to be an asshole about it. That's it for me. I really tried to have conversation here but f=dealing with assholes is just not worth it. Have a nice life. Goodbye.

We will be bottom three, thinking last in homers.
We will be bottom three, thinking last in runs scored.

We will be top 3 in pitching.

But losing 2-1, 3-2, 1-0 will be the norm.

I was joking. You are a veteran member so I thought you'd know my schtick by now. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.

We got a better return for Jason than Justin. Says something about which one is viewed as more valuable by other teams.

I guess the fact that Upton will make $10 million more next year has nothing to do with it... When you consider the money the deals are about equal.

Because as we saw this year just making the 1 game WC game is an at best scenario. Glad to see that the Royals and Giants season ended in that game.
