Braves trade for Lucas Duda

Yup. Good lefty pinch hitter. Will be a little bit of a challenge keeping him sharp. Maybe rest Freddie for a couple games.

Cool my prediction came true, I guessed Duda about a week ago now in a discussion about him and Granderson. I just thought Duda was more likely of the two. I always liked him too (he looks like Brian McCain to me, lol).

Great move. Needed the lefty power bat, got the lefty power bat. Once Duvall comes around (he has a -50 delta between his wOBA and xwOBA) we are going to have a very strong bench. Duda, Duvall, Culberson, and Flowers/Suzuki is a really nice group of pinch hitting options off the bench. Hopefully Snitker will deploy them properly

i'll settle for resting him and Markakis one game each knowing how stubborn Freeman is about sitting out.

yea good moves by AA as usual.

We pretty much knew it was either going to be Duda or Granderson.

Once Donaldson experienced calf pain they were able to move on a bench bat.

If Donaldson sits out the rest of the year, how much do you think a contract would cost us this offseason?

I know it sounds weird, but I actually think Freeman is a little selfish by not taking some breaks...he didn't take one game off during that 22 in 20 days streak, and it's kind of showing on the offensive side.

i think that mentality is a feature not a bug

What are the corresponding moves here? I assume Ruiz gets sent down for Duda, but who goes for the catcher?
