That's what it looks like. Jackson said to have a scouting grade 70 fast ball with 40 in control.....was originally a starter but has been moved to the pen....
Jackson looks like the FO's dirt poor alternative to Brad Brach. I'm content to gamble on Jackson (who has been nagged by poor control and lackluster secondary pitches since being drafted) and Armando Rivera as potential power righty options of the pen rather than coughing up a talent like Mallex for a proven relief arm.
Tyrell is a guy that always seemed overrated by the fan base because people like him and he seems like a nice guy. Ultimately, he's pretty pointless to our rebuild. Doesn't miss enough bats to have much of a role with us. May as well to a shot at a guy who could be a late-inning reliever. I did like Feigl though.
I'm not going to pretend to be enthused about the deal, but it makes sense. In Jenkins we had a guy who probably wasn't good enough to start but didn't have a great relief profile. Jackson is a RP all the way, so he might have a better chance at success in Atlanta than Jenkins did.
