Braves trade Wisler, Sims, Tucker to Reds for Adam Duvall

Duvall makes sense for us because he has power and is a very good defender in LF with a good arm, he is also able to play first and third. So should he take off hitting a lot of homers you could start him at third just to get more AB's if his bat was so hot that you wanted to do so. He could also be an option to at least platoon next year in LF.

So my take on this trade was it made sense for both teams, I agree with Reds GM of seeing Sims as still having potential. Make no mistake, despite what fans here say. This was mostly a Sims for Duvall trade. Wisler and Tucker are soon to be out of options and possibly both on waivers this off-season. That isn't to say both won't have an up and down career in MLB. I expect they will and Tucker might be able to become a regular bench player somewhere. I am glad he is getting another shot with the Reds. If not for his defense he would have a much better shot at sticking with an NL team. But from the Reds perspective, they're hoping Sims at least turns into a solid bullpen piece down the road.
