CBB Thread

Losing at Northwestern is not acceptable, regardless of the injuries. Need a new AD soon, so the evaluation process can begin on Groce. Illini might be looking for a new coach this spring.

Haven't posted much this year, but I'll be honest.. I was really worried about this Kentucky team for a while there. They had some bad, bad losses. And Skal is just not what he was supposed to be.. playing for a make-believe team his senior year in HS didn't do him any favors.

But they've really started to turn it around lately. Murray is playing within himself and consequently has become a premier scoring guard. And Tyler Ulis is amazing - I know not everyone will agree, but I would rather have him than any PG in the country. The problem is the big guys are still inconsistent and half of them are currently hurt.. but if we get even competent post play, I always like going to March with a guard-driven squad, especially because this year is wide open as any. Tomorrow against TAMU will be a tough test.

As usual the SEC is awful in basketball. As bad as Florida is this season it's a more pathetic conference than it generally is. Lol at saying Texas AM is a tough test.

A few thoughts

- Is there a more overrated team in CBB than Miami?
- Big 12/Big 10 will likely make up half of the Sweet 16 this year, if not more than half
- Tom Izzo is the man
- Illinois basketball is depressing and seems to keep getting worse

No bracket discussion?

Kansas-Oklahoma-UNC-Michigan St seems like the obvious Final Four to me, but things never seem to go as planned

NCAA is a joke. I don't get the selection committee at all. They rewards teams because they are in a big conference. MSU surprisingly gets boned again.

Oregon is a weak as hell and have the worst region I have ever seen. Kansas, UNC, Oklahoma/Duke, and MSU.

Kentucky at a 4 playing the Big Ten Champions in round 2 (if they make it past Stony Brook) is an absolute joke. Texas A&M and Duke were seeded higher than Kentucky. Really? In what world does that make sense?

Tulsa and Michigan getting in is a joke. Syracuse is a joke.

If this happened in football, there would be riots. But it happens every year in basketball.

Yep. Cal is a snake, but his comments are spot on. Every single season the committee seems to be doing a worse job than the previous season. The criteria changes each season too. They make these potential match ups because they are games they want to see. Hence the second round game with Indiana. Just biased humans with agendas to see games they want.

Wait... you think your team got screwed??

I'M SHOCKED

While I was surprised Michigan St did not get a 1, they do have a nice path to the Final Four. Utah is meh and they've beaten Virginia the last two tournaments. I think they are the most likely team to get to the Final Four

A&M had a better reume than Kentucky but i do think Kent should have been a 3. Tulsa and cuse didnt deserve it. Michigan was borderline. St marys and monmouth deserved to be in

I Think they got top 8 right. Beyond that, lol

There's no objective measurement that has Texas A&M ahead of Kentucky. Regardless, I'm fine with A&M being a 3 if Kentucky is as well.
