Randle will be the best 4. He might be the best freshman Calipari has had, according to the always-reliable summer reports.

I'll take Harrison over Smart.

The other Harrison might not be the best SG, but he's in the top 3-4.

I'd take WCS over any other big in the country next year.

Regardless, maybe not best in the country, but they'll have guys who are in the conversation at 3 or 4 positions. Might be more accurate to say that they'll have a top-5 player at each position, which is just as crazy.

The NCAA can be hypocritical scumbags at times. http://hamptonroads.com/2013/08/odu-player-hills-eligibility-appeal-denied

This is one of the best student athletes in the county (at least academically). He's a team captain, just embodies what college athletics is designed to be about.

He goes to Clemson and as a freshman plays in 23 games.

As a soph he plays 8 mins in a closed door scrimmage at the beginning of the year and decides he wants to go back home and be with his family. (No medical hardship sent)

He then transferred that year to ODU and sat out

The kid then played 2 seasons at ODU.

But, the NCAA ruled his 8 mins scrimmage counts as a full year of eligibility despite granting a player at Notre Dame in a similar situation another year.

If it was UNC, I'm sure the player would get the extra year. (which by the way I called Hairston playing this year)

Absolutely agree. It is amazing how the NCAA selectively enforces their rules. I really think between this and the growing tide of resentment over the fact that they profit off the backs of their players, but those same players can't even buy their own jersey, the NCAA's days are numbered.

And now the NCAA lets the marine play.

Guarentee if Donte HIll's story went on ESPN, the NCAA would grant him another year.

John Groce getting things done at Illinois! Leron Black last weekend and Quentin Snider commits tonight - still room for Cliff Alexander to come aboard.

Quentin Snider commits tonight

Former Louisville commit. Their other 2014 5 star, JaQuan Lyle, also just de-committed tonight. Something going down at Louisville? (answer: probably! Chumps.)

Also, Tyler Ulis to UK. No big shock, but I'm excited about this kid. Probably a four year player simply because of his size. Will be kind of nice. 2014 class should be loaded. Not like 2011 or 2013, but still pretty good. Karl Towns is the truth.

Nothing going down, he is a diva who de-commit because we were still going after Whitehead and that hurt his feelings.

Crazy that Illinois was in on Lyle, he commits to Louisville and Snider decommits, Illinois jumps all over Snider and gets a verbal commitment this week, and 1 day later Lyle goes and backs out of his commitment to Louisville

PS - Big Cliff Alexander just announce that he is taking his final official visit at the end of October to Illinois - this would be the single greatest recruit to commit to Illinois in the last 20+ years. If Groce can land him, they may give him a lifetime contract.

I really think it's going to come down Illinois and MSU for Cliff and whoever gets him will be very happy.
