If Javy Lopez or Ryan Klesko, or Kerry Ligtenberg picked against the Braves, do you think this would have made national news or a topic would have been made on here? No, because while those 3 played with the Braves for an extended amount of time, neither of them were Braves lifers nor had they accomplished anything in their career at all let alone with one team like Chipper.

Why do you think people are upset about Chipper Jones picking against the Braves, compared to any of those 3 or someone like Kevin Millwood, or Mark Lemke?

I'm absolutely amazed that you have no sense whatsoever to understand why Chipper picking against the Braves is different. If Smoltz picked against us, I would have no problem with it because he's paid to be unbiased working for a media platform representing ALL of baseball.

Bc Braves fans are dumb in general. Same fans whine that Braves aren't shown enough on baseball tonight or when Keith Law doesn't say a Braves prospect is the best prospect or Harold Reynolds didn't pick them to win the division, etc.

I'm pretty certain we're not the only fanbase that's tired of ESPN promoting everything Dodgers, Red Sox and Yankees. It's why I stopped watching any of the major media TV that covers baseball, because that's what it's come down to. I know it's ratings driven but it's whatever.

The Braves are deuchebags, yet you also root for a team with Harper, Strasburg, Desmond, Werth... interesting.

No one cared about the Yankees, the only yankee related news that was on ESPN, was the ARod crap. As for the Dodgers and Sox? Well, they are better than us....so yeah, I think they deserve more time.

The point is, just like Tommy LaSorda is the ultimate ambassador of the Dodgers and all things good about them, that's what the Braves need out of Chipper. Doesn't mean he has to be who we want him to be, he's always seemed to have chosen his own path.

Yeah he definitely likes the attention. I swear he only comes around when the braves aren't doing well.

Giles, your comparison f Brunell picking against the jags is completely silly, and I'd like to think you're at least smart enough to understand the differences. No one said chipper hates us. But, he shouldn't have picked against us after being so close to the team.

Honestly, I just think he's kind of dumb. I don't think he understands things the way Jeter would. As sav said, jeter wouldn't pick against the Yankees Ina series the year after retiring. Chipper just isn't that intelligent.
 
Maybe Chipper could have talked about the series without picking the Dodgers in 4. It's irrelevant to the point this organization acted like a bunch of damn clowns for sending a mascot out there to catch his pitch and should be ashamed of itself. My main thing with the Gomez thing is this: what in the hell are you trying to accomplish? What if he starts swinging and a couple of our players had gotten hurt or suspended? This year's Atlanta Braves team just wasn't very smart.

Gomez is lucky I wasn't catching...I would have been waiting at home with his bat. I think Gomez was way more out of line than Fernandez as I don't think Fernandez intended anything when he spit rounding third.
 
I've never seen a player act like Gomez did. It was night and day to Fernandez. Gomez was jawing at Maholm and the infielders all the way around, showboating and intentionally riling them up. Honestly, when I saw the way his eyes were bugging out at Maholm during the at-bat and then after the confrontation with McCann, I thought he was a bit psychotic and possibly high on something. It was bizarre.

i honestly DGAF. i loved what mccann did. gomez acted like as big of a tool as any baseball player i've ever seen. mccann coming up the line was 100% warranted.
