Chipper Jones picked the Dodgers to win in 4.

Seriously. I just don't get it. I know Uggla's vision isn't good that's why he needed Lasik but he's got to be legally blind if he can see his numbers and why he's off the roster.

I think it would have been different if the Braves went with a truly hot hand in place of Uggla. It's not like EJ was tearing it up, it's not like he was clearly the better player or offered any specific intangible that made him the right choice. I'm not saying that Uggla necessarily deserved to be on the roster, but I understand why he felt slighted.

Not a surprise baseball media guys hate the Braves.

Pretty much only Schoenfield gives us any love. Don't even get me started with guys on Baseball Tonight or MLB Network.

Same "whoa as me" attitude as the players have, it seems.

If Jose really did intend to spit close to Chris Johnson, it was likely bc CJ ran his mouth after getting out. Fernandez got him out earlier in the game and somehow that gave Johnson the right to talk smack.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter what was said between them earlier...you don't spit at or toward someone even if it was unintentional. It looked really bad on Fernandez's part, and he even knew he was in the wrong...he apologized to Braves players afterward...his manager spoke out against him.

Well if you watched MLB Network or Baseball Tonight, pretty much every former player on those shows stood up and applauded Brian McCann for what he did to Gomez.

Also, if they were truly douche moves, Fernandez wouldn't have personally walked over to apologize to McCann, nor Gomez either. Both guys admitted what they did was over the top and apologized to McCann. But nope, can't possibly be the it, McCann's just a full on deuche.

Yeah, he came out looking like roses bc he actually admitted that he shouldn't have admired the homer like he did.

Hilarious.....why would the media "hate" the Braves. I'd love to hear a good reason.

Im not saying that what either Gomez or Fernandez did was right. Did the CJ apologize for how he acted? McCann? The Braves apologize for how they kept drilling Harper bc he had a couple homers off Teheran?

I love Chipper just as much as the next Braves fan, but I can admit what he did was a deuchebag move.

"Play for the name on the front of the jersey, and they'll remember the name on the back."

Chipper did that for us. I still however, root for the name on the front of the jersey first and foremost. Chipper is no longer an active player on this team, and what he did was completely stupid and again it was a slap in the face to all to all of the fans who hold him in high regard to pick against the team those same fans still love and root for.

Do I think the team handled the first pitch situation pretty immaturely? Sure. But at the same time, this could've all been avoided had Chipper just been the homer that he is supposed to be.

Some of those HBP's in Atlanta were not intentional. Certainly Julio's was, but the other ones just let go.

I disagree. He's allowed to make a prediction for a playoff series. If he said I'm rooting for the Dodgers that's one thing. People need to relax. Maybe if our players put the energy wasted on ridiculous crap on the field we would still be playing.

Same "KEITH LAW HATES US!" talk.

Not exactly. Throughout our winning streaks, none of the major media ever took us seriously, despite the fact we had a winning record against all playoff teams.

Say it's because we're not a big major market like an LA or NY or Boston. Say it's because the Braves aren't that likeable. Don't care what you say, the Braves had the 2nd best record in the majors this season, but you would've never known that based on watching MLB Network, Baseball Tonight, or reading articles on the web.

It's easy for people to say "they had it right" because we lost the Division series, but this was all season long. These guys aren't psychics.

If Chipper said he was rooting for the Dodgers, you would have a point. He didn't He even specified how he bleeds blue and red or whatever he said.

I don't understand why a former player has to lie and/or talk foolishly to appease current players and fans.

They didn't need to...that's the whole point that you're not getting. They did nothing wrong...the so called writers that slammed the Braves were fans of those teams or just writers that don't like the Braves. They called them fun police for sticking up for their players. Every catcher in the league gets in Gomez's face. Maybe they wait until he crosses home plate, but they get in his face. Every team in baseball defends a teammate that gets spit at.

It doesn't surprise that you don't understand.

And McCann needed to be a leader and go out there and catch the ball. And he failed. Just like his bat did in crunch time. Again.

Well agree to disagree.

Cal Ripken would never pick against the Orioles, even if he felt the other team would win.
I'd imagine neither Jeter or Rivera would do the same to the Yankees.
Helton will never pick against the Rockies, even if he feels the other team is better.

These guys are lifers on their teams. Chipper is a lifer as well. We rolled out the red carpet for him in every way you could imagine. Chipper will have another job with the Braves in a few years in a more important position whatever that may be.

Michael Corleone told Fredo in Godfather... "You never take sides against the family." Chipper has been apart of the Braves family for decades, for him to pick against us even if he felt the Dodgers were a better team, was a low blow to the fans.

Some of you guys (not saying you directly), love Chipper's candidness. Well his candidness and his loyalty to the team in this instance were cancelled out.
