You still think Miss State is/was or has ever been a #1 quality team?

FSU has played 2 or 3 teams the quality if not better than Miss State.
I would include BC, Miami and Louisville. Clemson with the kid QB and perhaps ND.

OK State would give them all they could handle as well. Not trying to be contrary but I never got what the fuss was about MSU

Right. The Notre Dame team that lost at home to Northwestern. Got ya. Doesn't matter if I think Miss. St. deserved to be No. 1 or not. They were, and that's what was being discussed. Talk to your boy, Matt Smith.

I certainly hope not. It would have been severe oversight on my part. They've been overrated for a very long time. But we're talking about currently, anyway.

When FSU "currently" played ND and even after the ND -FSU game (we refer to that game as # 23 ) many in the press and on here had them as a viable top 4 team. I side with you and see them as more like a Miss State team rather than in the class of Alabama-FSU or to a degree Oregon. They were missing their left tackle when they lost. That was the rational for keeping them #2

can't wait until they start playing for real. You know, #1. It is possible none of these 4 teams sees New Orleans or Pasadena. An awful lot of football to play yet.

Who thought last year at this time Alabama wasn't in the championship game. National OR SEC ??

As far as going round and round that seems to be the whole point. Sometimes I think the contraveries surrounding the rankings and quality wins - game security or whatever they call it is nothing more than selling tickets.

But, it is kinda fun

Tackling has definitely been a disappointment, but we're really thin right now on defense. Still a couple of typically sure tacklers are missing tackles. Getting our safety back in the second half will be huge for us. I like where we are right now. Don't know that we'll win as Mizzou seems real healthy on defense this late in the season.

O-line blocking has been a hilariously bad problem all year. Dooley only recruited one good O-linemen and he's at Arkansas now. Dobbs has made up for some of that the last two games, but tough to do against Mizzou's DE. Really Mizzou's defense has been really good all year. Offensively they've struggled.
