I think the biggest difference in the game was special teams. FSU pwnt AU in the special teams game. The easy missed FG by Auburn, poor contain and bad luck on the kickoff return, bad outside containment on the fake punt and a couple of drops on kicks.

Those of you who think FSU would've won comfortably had they gotten off to a faster start, should acknowledge that AU would've won comfortably had they played a solid special teams game.

Yeah. Special teams was the difference in the game. AU played terrible in that aspect of the game and it cost them the win.

For every Wake Forrest is a Kentucky. For every VaTech there is a Georgia --

Every Duke a Vanderbilt

But there are not. There are a lot more Wake Forrest's in the ACC then there are in the SEC. There are a lot more UGA's in the SEC then there are in the ACC.

And that's not to take anything away from FSU. I think they were the best team this year.

They missed a clear horsecollar and facemask that should have been called against AU. But again. Not every call went against FSU like he's claiming. I've not been the only one to point out that major flaw in his statement. I just appear to be the only getting questioned for pointing it out. Gee. I wonder why that is.

You would have to point out a favorable call that FSU got? The interception was not one of them.

Auburn killed FSU on punts though.....Auburn has a great one and FSU's one weaknesses is the punter.

Given how poorly FSU played, I agree that Auburn wins if they play better on kickoffs. Though you play that game over again and FSU plays like they should, the game isn't close. Auburn has a great run game, some good pass rushers, and a good punter.

Yeah you do that thing where every time the SEC loses a game you scream OVERRATED! You can't determine if they are/aren't overrated based on one game.

Why not just use your argument and figure out which teams have the most talent. Based on your own argument the SEC should have ten SEC teams ranked in the top 25 each year.

Raw talent wise, the SEC should. But, they have dip****s that can only recruit as some of their coaches........ Saban and Malzahn seem to be good/great ones. Richt, Miles, whoever Tennessee trots out.....not so much. Or the dude form Mizzou that almost cost his team the game by refusing to sit the QB.

I'm not saying we sat on the lead in the 2nd half. I'm talking about right there at the end of the 1st half when there was around 1:30 left and we had 3 timeouts and just sat on the ball instead of trying to score.

FSU made good defensive adjustments in the 2nd half.

They ran the ball, did you expect them to pass? You think Auburn wants to try and pass on FSU on obvious passing downs? That would be ugly.

Anyone want to predict, which criminal will get kicked out of an SEC school and end up playing QB for Auburn next?

It is obvious football officiating is atrocious across the board. NFL -NCAA

My thought is they are using the same officials formations that were institutionalized in the 1920's. Thsi isn't even the same game that was played 20 years ago let alone 90 !!

Too often referees are out of position and even more so out numbered.
As a Steeeler fan the illegal San Diego alignment on the Kansas City FG was no individual referees fault. What was at fault was a few years back they moved the umpire from the defensive middle to behind the QB . Replay showed the call , a ref in the old umpires position makes that call.

As an FSU fan how am I upset at the two calls we are talking about (horsecollar and facemask) when the referee didn't see what a thousand cameras saw!!!
Not sure how they do it but it is obvious to me something has to change. The game has out run the officiating

best of that bunch is (much as I hate this) in South Carolina

AU did not run their fast uptempo offense at the end of the 1st half. They let the play clock run down on every play.

The one favorable call? Are you freaking seriously? The PI against AU at the end of the game? The roughing the punter call against AU early in the game? The holding call against AU in the 3rd quarter that pushed them out of range for a FG? If you think the officiating was one sided then you didn't watch the game.

Almost positive, but there is only one Georgia in the SEC. Additionally the ACC has only one Wake Forest.

They had a minute 30 and are a running team. What do you expect? The QB can only throw if the guys are wide open.

The PI!!!! The defender was all over the WR. And that was after several plays where defensive backs grabbed the WRs. You can't possibly expect a defender to be able to grab a WR and then bump him with the ball in the air.

So you are upset that when Auburn clearly held the guy and it was called that the call somehow favored FSU?

I expected them to run the same offense I had seen all season. Up tempo fast offense. 1:30 with our offense is like 4 minutes with a normal offense. All I wanted was for a FG and Gus didn't try to get it. 1:30 and 3 times with our offense is a ton of time even with running the ball.

I'm was upset about that holding call because 2 plays later when FSU had the ball there was a clear major hold that wasn't called that was even worse than the one that was called on AU. Again. The game was not called decidedly one side in favor of AU. I don't care how many times you say it, it doesn't make it true. I'm not the only one in the thread that called you out on that false statement.

Except there's not. USC, Mizzou, Bama, and LSU were considerably better than the next 4 best ACC teams after Florida St. And the bottom tier ACC teams are worse than the likes Ole Miss, Florida, Tenn and Miss St. Kentucky and Arkansas were admittedly god awful this yr and would barely win 7 games in even the Sun Belt.

Florida St is great. I don't think any SEC fan would have an issue saying they would have been the best team in the SEC had they played in the SEC this yr. But FSU isn't head and shoulders above teams like Auburn, Mizzou, and Bama and this game proved it. It was a very tight game till the end. Call Auburn's offense a gimmick all you want, but FSU didn't have an answer for it for most of the game (though they fared better than any other team that faced Auburn, other than LSU).
