Obama's Cuba policy was rushed for political purposes. Right idea, horrible approach.
It was long overdue and should've been handled quickly to keep the chatter down. Don't see the downside.
And given the current administration's approach one really has to laugh at your criticism of Obama. He had and coordinated with a functioning State Dept.

I see plenty of downside in rushing into bed with a country that has an oppressive dictator and a brutal record of human rights abuses. It's amazing how Obama's completely vetted and State coordinated policy didn't address, or attempt to address, those issues. It's also amazing that you, in particular, continue to defend Obama's FoPo when it's literally the lowest hanging fruit on the Black Jesus tree.
I agree that a thaw in relations with Cuba was long overdue, I just don't agree that it was necessary to lift all sanctions/restrictions - carte blanche - without attempting to leverage some sort of reform out of the PCC. Cuba is a great country and its people deserve better.
Another 'sonic' attack against US diplomats at the embassy in Havana is feared to have taken place in August.
The newest incident is said to have affected another three diplomats, bringing the total number of people harmed to 19.
It comes after a spate of attacks between November 2016 and April 2017 which left 16 diplomats suffering severe health problems.
Some lost their hearing and others suffered mild brain injuries as a result of the undetected attacks which authorities fear took place at their homes or nearby.
It is not clear where exactly the most recent incident occurred.

Does it bother you that our police use the same thing and claim it's not a weapon? As for Cuba, what motive do they have to do this? Spite?
I forgot that the local police department used sonic waves to mess with people's brains.
