Dansby Swanson article "Homecoming"

Calm down everyone.

The poster made the point that we tore something down in order to eventually be world series contenders... I countered with the fact that we already had a team who had proven they could contend. Instead, we traded away the biggest haul of young talent I've ever seen a sports franchise do.

The hope is that the return will eventually get us right back to where we were. A team with a lot of young talent who was consistently winning 90+ games... I don't see that happening before 2018 but we'll see.

you toe the line between NinerFan and HorseHideHarry.. I never know what you mean half the time...

Thanks for posting this. I love this guy! His makeup is off the charts. Everything I have read or heard about Dansby Swanson screams success. I can only assume he was targeted by the Braves when Simmons was traded. If Swanson comes anywhere close to the player he could be, we won't miss Andrelton too much. He may not play in Turner Field, but he should have a long career with the Braves at Sun Trust Park.

I can't wait! I love Simba. He was a boss... but it will be great having a shortstop (I pray) that can hit the ball with authority and actually keep his freaking feet on the ground during a swing.

Didn't realize Swanson was a fan of Pinter (much less well-versed enough to publish on his work).

Yes... cause one year matters. What about the previous 5 years where we had the same talent.

The 2014 Mets won 79 games. The 2015 Mets went to the world series.

The 2013 Giants won 76 games. The 2014 Giants won the world series.

Crazy I know

You mean the previous 5 years where we made the playoffs only 3 times and were quickly removed in the 1st round?

But sure, World Series contenders.......

The team that contended in 2013 was very different than the team we would have been running out in 2015.

But more on topic, this was a great article. Swanson is very intelligent and high character guy. Can't wait to see him in Atl.

So what are you going to *itch about if the 2017 Braves win 75-80 games and the 2018 Braves win the World Series?

We all get it - you (for some unexplainable reason) think that team was good enough to win as constructed. It simply wasn't.

If Jason Heyward really is worth $184 million, why in the world didn't he turn a 90 win 2014 Cardinals team (that was BETTER than the Braves) into World Series winners? If Justin Upton really is a "steal" at $133 million, why didn't he turn a 77 win 2014 Padres team into something better than a 74 win team last season???
