DOB: Braves offseason about to get a lot busier. - Gamel released.

The only good thing I can say about Bowman is that he seemed far less enamored this past season of the "[Noun X] gave [Noun Y] reason to believe that he was [Quality Z]" construction that used to be such a ridiculous crutch for him.

Jerry Hairston is a potential fit for the #Braves. He told @Ken_Rosenthal he could sign within the next 24 hours.

So, if the Braves do bring EOF back, they will basically have 4 set-up men for Kimbrel when healthy. EOF, Walden, Venters and Avilan. That is a hell of a pen.

Apparently the under the radar pick up of Luis Vasquez from the Dodgers is a good one and they're talking about him as a key piece of the bullpen.

Just damn. Again I sure hope not.

What's wrong with veteran depth for the bench? I'm pretty confident the money will be minimal so why not. Guys like that are easy to release if they don't contribute. I also doubt he would stop us from getting a true impact bat for the bench like Chavez.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with Hairston, his versatility is off the charts and brings a veteran presence and a veteran presence is what they're looking for. Even if they sign him, they still have room for one more bench part and perhaps that could be a power piece.

What part of .211/.265/.275/.539 from a closing in on 40 year old should we like?

That's raycess

Nt rlly. The braves have a history of going after family members. UPTONS, when we had JD we gave hhis brother a chance to be a reliever. We drafted JS Jr. And Kyle Wren. Drafted heyward's brother that opted to go to college.

Drafted Kimbrel's brother. Traded for Glavine's brother in 99.

I think Hairston would be a good pick-up if he could bounce back to his pre-2013 level of performance. Back-up at the corners in the OF and 2B and 3B. Not a bad choice if the price is right.
