DOGE is essentially cutting a bunch of jobs and making government services work worse for people, so the negative response was always going to be there. Picking an eccentric billionaire who wanted to make a spectacle of those cuts, then hiring a bunch of trust fund tech bros to do a comprehensive audit of the federal government didn’t help. Having them do it probably illegally, and in ways that appeared to show they did little more than hit a souped-up Ctrl-F to find things to cut really didn’t help. Publicity stunts like the email Elon 5 things you did this week to find ghost employees, public declarations of massive fraud that led to nothing more than an entry on the DOGE website and extreme focuses on agencies that many people like really, really didn’t help. And the endless lies and distortions to make it seem like they were fighting against cunning social Marxists robbing us blind rather than just a bloated administrative state turned it all into front page news that turned that negative sentiment into the news of the day.

DOGE had extensive negative coverage because they took a popular idea, cutting waste, that has an unpopular solution of cutting jobs and services, and were so sure they could get everyone excited about the second part that they did so callously and aggressively in the public.

And if it was a democrat run administration doing the same thing the reception would be different. Ignoring this stark reality is not a shock coming from you.

Maybe in a few years the media will admit they were lying to you and you’ll realize.

No, it’d just be Fox News and the right-wing media doing the negative coverage then. But instead of blaming the media for the ineffectiveness of the government, maybe consider the reasons I listed rather than the party affiliation.

Oh sure - big bad Fox News the same thing. Just like big bad Fox News talked about Biden’s dementia but that was big bad Fox News spewing fake news.

It’s all about party affiliation and the entrenched government establishment using their cut out media orgs to stop the needed cuts that this country has to take.

But you’ll continue to pretend otherwise just like Biden’s mental absence.

If you uncritically think that the MSM is nothing but liars pushing a liberal agenda but that right-wing media is telling the objective truth without an agenda, you’re the exact audience they’re hoping to persuade. CNN and Fox will both tell me what they think will make them the most money. I’d encourage trusting neither.

All I see are facts and one side continuously lies to your face while the other at least presents reality from time to time.

But of course I’m not expecting the side pretending Biden was senile to acknowledge this obvious reality.

Call me crazy, I think Elon got what he wanted. Choas and revenge at the regulatory agencies who've hassled him. He'll also switch sides as he pleases just like Cuckerberg because he only cares about what makes him richer.
 
Quite funny how everyone’s moved onto “eh the robots will fix things” when 8 months ago we were arguing about automation destroying the livelihood of longshoremen
