Elon Musk’s company is going to pay that man actual US dollars when their algorithm inevitably boosts his post into millions of views. Then Elon will retweet it with a laughing face emoji or a quip and start the cycle anew. And the more sensational the actions, the more ads delivered as members of Congress advertise for him for free both intentionally and unintentionally. I dunno, seems bad man.

If he doesn’t divest or whatever, I won’t be storming the capitol or anything, but I think it’d be better if he weren’t being financially incentivized to to make the news. .

I love this push to paint the richest man in the world who is also about to be a member of the executive branch in a position that doesn’t require Senate confirmation as the average citizen using their First Amendment rights. To be perfectly clear, I genuinely am fine with Musk tweeting whatever he wants and even trying to actively sway policy. That’s what US politics is at its core. But pretending he’s doing so more nobly or against his self-interest is just bootlicking.
 
Vivek screwed himself - can't talk down to the American people like that. To me it sounds like he has some unresolved issues growing up being ridiculed by 'the jocks'.

What a shame because guy is incredible but some things you can't walk back and people don't forget. Unless he gets massive support from Trump I don't see how he makes it out of the primary for Ohio gov. All the challengers iwll have to do are recite his thoughts on Americans.

This is going to be such an exhausting 4 years. Unless the “real” cause of government waste is the Treasury Department going rogue and spending unauthorized funds, this major development is just giving Elon access to digital receipts for the spending allotments he already had access to.

'Even to known terrorist groups' - Maybe you haven't worked in banking before but bank tellers are trained to not facilitate fraud or criminal actions.
 
These are electronic transactions done on behalf of various federal agencies. I would imagine it is the agencies' job to perform due diligence. But if Elon says otherwise who am I to argue.

It’s the federal government spending money legally allotted. This isn’t a bank teller letting the robbers have the key, it’s the bank tellers being told by the bank to give money to a bank member.
