I work for a company who is now in its 11th year.... we are on track to earn $1B in revenue for the first time. The company is ecstatic and and it is a major milestone. 1500 employees, 15,000 corporate customers... 40 million consumers, etc.

then you read about how the federal government will just piss away $30b on some climate analysis in Singapore on spiders and it gets pretty demoralizing thinking about all the hard work the private sector does compared to the fed

It's silly because taking 10B from one pot and moving it to another isn't saving anything.

If I take spend 500 dollars in cash for a switch 2 or charge it ot my debit card there's no difference. It's still spending 500 cash.

We’re going to pay people actual tax dollars to ensure exhibits that already exist and provides a cultural perspective, such as you might find in a museum, is removed from display. We will then presumably pay for suitable replacements. So glad we did this DOGE thing.

This isn’t billions in savings or anything, but this is a genuinely good thing that DOGE appears to have addressed. I don’t think a vast majority of those rejections are stopping any fraud, but we should expect the people spending our tax dollars to dot their i’s and cross their t’s.

Wouldn’t we be hoping for those displaced government employees to be in the private sector as soon as possible? Seems like a pretty meh thing to celebrate if we haven’t seen any decrease in spending yet.

We have seen a large incrase in private sector employment - I suspect a portion of that were recently terminated governemnt workers.
