DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

The problem with your analogy is that it's not a straight average in baseball. One A+ and two Fs is often worth more than 3 Bs. Would the Mets trade us Thor for Teheran, Wisler, and Blair? Probably not.

It's more like this, would you rather have one 60 inch TV and two 18 inch TVs or three 27 inch TVs?

Well, now your analogy is screwed up. Again, this is not the basketball draft where one A+ guy can make a difference or a static good like a television. It's a dynamic process and the same guy can't pitch every day. Braves netted three solid prospects and given the shape of things, I can understand their thinking. We'll have to see if their choices are right.

Plus Bridges has been hinting that there were some bats they coveted but ended up not being available when the Braves picked. Anderson was ok in my book once Moniak and Senzel were off the board. But I think there are some strong indications the Braves would have taken those two if they were available.

I think Kieboom going at #28 was a bit of a surprise. He wasn't that high in most rankings. Nats must not know what they are doing.

Looks like a Demacio pick. Back end starter profile. At least we took him at 80 instead of in the first round. On the positive side, he was ACC pitcher of the year
