Economics Thread

Yeah, well, so you say. Sort of like the Paul-ite claims of impending hyperinflation that you used to repeat. Get back to me when it happens. Conservatives have been forecasting the death of California for as long as I can remember.

Hi.

Getting back to you.

California has lost half a dozen congressional seats, has a 100B budget deficit, and federal inflation is near 30% from the time of this post

Not advocating for the execution of private equity executives. Other studies have shown similar effects on quality of assisted living facilities bought by private equity firms.

I suppose deciding not to pay taxes by starving to death is technically a voluntary choice.

Don't worry they will get their handouts in any system

I’m sure you’re right, but credit where it’s due to MAGA for turning what would be the biggest possible tax cut to the rich imaginable with little to no change (if it doesn’t end up costing them more) in taxes paid for the poor into something the working poor are going to fiercely defend is Trump protecting the little guy from the big bad IRS.

It's objectively discriminatory to require me to pay higher taxes than my mom, while getting not a single additional government benefit

A worthy questions for leftists to consider

I agree. If the regulations are truly necessary for public safety, it cannot be suspended like this. But many housing codes are complete horse**** that do little but line the pockets of various trades industries and politicians rather than meaningfully doing what they claim they do.

One would think if our academics and experts and universities were doing their job effectively, politicians of today should be educated to know that price controls do not work. There is no shortage of data points or historical experiments they could be teaching from. Therefore, we should never see a Gavin Newsome propose such a retarded idea

But, as we all know... our academics and experts and universities are a laughing stock. And should be treated accordingly

Now, back to your regular programming of customers of academics and experts and universities crying for bailout help because the product they bought offers negative value

Will there ever be a point where partisans from either party say "enough is enough"?

Nah. Spend MOAR!!!!!!!

Sounds like you need to start voting blue. At this point both parties will spend like drunken sailors but at least the Dems will try to Robin Hood it with higher taxes!

The interest expense numbers look quite different when normalized to GDP. They were higher in the 1980s and 1990s.
