Economics Thread

Almost as if America is a better country than all of the others.

SHOCKING

Indeed. America IS a great country (especially for ballers) and our economic performance during the past four years has been exceptional compared to any other country.

No - Our economic performance is a result of the seeds being planted in Trumps years before the bioweapon where Dems in control of largest cities mandated people can't work.

Then miraculously they take those mandates down (WAY TOO LATE) and give Biden artificial job growth while also receiving the benefit of the foundational development during Trumps term.

BUt its ok - We are going to get Trump/Vance/Vivek/etc... and the economy will actually help AMERICANS moving forward while punishing all groups that fed this insane migrant job surge at the expense of our citizens.

Some countries have yet to return to their pre-covid levels or employment. Others took much longer to get there than we did. And NONE have zipped past it to the extent we have. NONE. NADA. ZIP. ZILCH.

No other major country had an unemployment rate as high as we did during COVID. NONE. NADA. ZIP. ZILCH. It's almost like..... we had way more jobs to fill than any other country once the pandemic started to end. I mean that's just ****ing crazy right?

no really relevant to my point which is about the speed of job growth from the precovid peak

You think the amount of jobs needing filled have nothing to do with the speed of job growth....

Are you being intentionally obtuse?

Not intentionally. My point is we blew past precovid employment levels faster than anyone else. The fact that we emerged from a deeper hole makes this even more impressive.

I took us until at least June 2022 just get regain the number of jobs lost during COVID (half of those were added back under Trump, FYI). Since June 2022, jobs creation has slowed significantly. Not to mention, we are in a full time job deficit under Biden, meaning that most of the jobs he has created are lower paying temporary jobs. Any growth is almost entirely artificial.

And there is this: https://www.johnlocke.org/bidenomics-1-5-million-full-time-jobs-lost-over-the-last-year/

Since June 2022 we've added over 6 million jobs. Nonfarm payrolls June 2022 152.3 million. October 2024 159.0 million. That's a rapid pace.

Most are government and part-time jobs.

Why is there such a large portion of this society saying the economy is terrible?
