Economics Thread

As someone who did debate in college (I know I'm a nerd), i at least understood that the women who protested didn't have the EIQ to hang.

Now I realize there are low iq men who love socialism on these boards as well

Crazy how retarded the system is

What was happening to China was unsustainable. They now know they will have to negotiate in good faith because if Trump and team don't get the systemic changes they demand the tariffs can go right back up and the CCP can suffer again.

When all the concessions come in it will be fun to see the back tracks around these parts....

I get all the skepticism, but the news has been good on the outcomes here so far.

Prices aren’t up, and trade terms seem to be shifting to favorable

If this lands like people hope it will, look out.

This has been carefully thought out and planned for a long time. The idea it was haphazard was always a joke and a shame that smart people thought this.

Yes - the consumer will absorb some of hte price hikes.

As I've said.
Just making sure you remember this when you take your victory laps on cherry picked quotes

In a post-earnings interview, CFO John David Rainey warned that price hikes at Walmart stores will begin this month: "If you've not already seen it, it will happen in May and then it will become more pronounced."

There are no cherry picked quotes - majority of increases are absorbed by suppliers. Then corporations take a small hit. Then the consumers will deal with prices increases.

Incredibly consistent message.

As opposed to the idea that consumers take 100% of the hit which was laughable from the beginning.

We’ll see where this lands in 2 months in CPI reports.
