Economics Thread

What’s wrong with getting an honest working day salary? Maybe you don’t have exposure to it but these workers already are making 250-400 per day at depressed wages.

People should be so lucky to make that money.

To me that was a pretty condescending comment which is frankly surprising from you.
Oh stop

My entire family is blue collar. They’d be the first ones to make that joke.

When you make importing goods needed more expensive and your labor rates go up, you mean the industry wouldn't be looking to hire workers

I really don't need the pearl clutching from the person literally celebrating hundreds of thousands of people losing their jobs a couple posts above.
Losing federal jobs costing us all money? I cheer privatization of the economy for sure!

ANd becuase of OBBB they'll be forced to get jobs if they want any benefits.

I would never do that work but it’s still an honest way of living. For some of these failed 'educated' it would be an upgrade in their lives.
“I’m above it but how dare you make a joke”

Meanwhile, he Continues to call decent human beings failures whose only crime was being hired for jobs that shouldn’t have existed in the first place.

Options are a great thing to have in life. But for those that don't its a great way to put food on the table and a house over your head.

Not even sure why you would think anything else than that.
I’m gonna call my brother who pours concrete for a living and ask him how long he thinks one of these guys (or gal) with political science degrees would last. He’ll get a kick out of that one.

unemployment rate for native-born workers is at its highest in 8 years (outside of the covid period and its aftermath)
Yeah - Lots of generic college grads are being automated out of their jobs.

Good thing we are deporting illegals to ensure that work is available as an option.

This is definitely due to Trumps economic policies though...You guys will asure me of that while knowing the truth of whats happening out there in white collar world.

Desperation is a funny thing and chnages people. WHen you can't get government assistance since you're able bodied how will you survive?

According to your theory of how the world works this should lead to a lower unemployment rate for native-born workers.

No - There is a natural transition period where incentives stack and people are forced to make different decisions. Part of the reason why I said I'm expecting the rebound in Q1 26.

But pretend that native born unemployment isn't tied to AI job losses...Its a fun game!
