Economics Thread

Three posts ago it was “prices won’t move”

Some prices move and some don’t as we have seen. I’m sure you’re still scratching your head as to why price increases have been modest. Apparently the author thinks there is a perpetual inventory buildup to explain. Eventually it will be used up!

You know what helps undesirable lendees?

When you deport 10M illegals so their wages go up.
you know that 60 days late means they've had these bills since July. If Trumpsdeporting illegals was the end all be all you claim, why is it still happening and at higher levels now?

Also where will the money to pay these people come from? Here's a hint, it's higher costs. whcih is just a different form of inflation. I'm all for paying people an appropriate wage, but while there's no way to limit the wage gap between the top 0.01% and everyone else, there will have to be truly poor people.

I'm aware of the standard health care expert talking points.

I'm also aware that reversing decades of globalism doesn't happen overnight. But we just heard that Truck Drivers are getting higher wages now which is a great thing! Supply/Demand

Ok how are those truckers getting paid more?

You think the CEO of Ross Express is taking a pay cut to pay his truckers more? No they'll jack up freight charges for their clients who then will pass that along to the consumers.

Well then it should be very clear that we see large prices increases right?

Any day now!!

Prices have significantly increased since last year. You're high if you don't see that.

Sure you freezers/fridge (not sure I remember) direct from manufacturer overseas has gotten more expensive.

You're also falsely attributing this prices to things like increased wages or tariffs when there is a whole pleathora of reasons they are happening.

But at least you're on the side of depressing wages for middle class Americans by importing the third world! You'd think increased wages for blue collared Americans would be something everyone would celebrate.

You know what goes down when illegals are gone? Housing / Healthcare / Education costs

But hey, Zito is mad that a blue collared workers are making more money now.

I'm all for increased wages but without hyper inflation.

What you're talking about isn't going to touch inflation.

How about gas prices?

WHat about when hospitals aren't filled with illegals with no insurance?

How about when there is nobody to rent homes and PE has to liquidate their portfolios?

How about kids getting better education because you don't need ESL teachers on the payroll?

If those things happen that will be great, but I really don't think renting homes to illegals is this luxury market you make it out to be and anyone doing that likely will just convert it to an Airbnb

Gas prices are basically level with last year. I mean I guess it's good the summer prices didn't get high.

I think the things you think are happen are a tiny piece of the pie and not close to the picture.

You think I'm talking about luxury market? Illegals aren't renting luxury homes bud. When the demand market craters rents go down and housing prices go down. PE firms that bought hundreds of thousands of homes because the IRR was super high due to high demand/rents will be forced to take massive writedowns and their investors will feel the burn resulting in mass liquidations.

Do you know what happens when a huge volume of homes hits the market all at once?

You don't think illegals going to emergency rooms with no way to pay doesn't massively inflate healthcare costs? Come on man....
