time to book some profits

some of us know that trees don't grow to the sky

and that corrections involving assets with intrinsic value don't go to zero

You are celebrating selling 1 year early and missing out on massive profits?

LOL

He actually said to short Tesla weeks before it more than doubled over the next 12 months, before declining with the rest of the tech sector

I am certain he did not hold his shorts that long... And if he did, it was so little money it did not matter

Over the last 10 months, the economy has lost 10K full time jobs

How do you get that?

I'm curious if you are comparing non-seasonally adjusted data for different months. As in March 2022 vs January 2023. Of course such a comparison could yield some strange results.

Ok. I see what you are talking about. It is interesting that that particular series has flattened out. Although choosing March 2022 as the comp is a form of cherrypicking considering it was significantly higher than its two neighboring months (February 2022 and April 2022)

January 2022 131151
February 2022 131783
March 2022 132587
April 2022 132017

January 2023 is 132577 up over 1.4 million from January 2022 but down slightly (10,000) from March 2022

If you really want to cherrypick go with May 2022 as your reference month for that series. May was the high (132743). We're down 163,000 fulltime jobs from May! Almost as bad as the 321,000 fulltime jobs lost from September 2017 to December 2017.

Bitcoin has had a rough year but nothing is as abysmal as the performance of a federal reserve note dollar

Hows Tesla doing?

Sucks that some members of the 'yute' have awful economic advisors.

Ha. TLSA was kind enough to let me close my shorts at a profitable level. Anything new of the Las Vegas' shooters Muslim gf or Paul Pelosi's gay lover?

Shorts you carried for how long?

Me thinks someone should learn about opportunity costs.

You know as much as I do on the Vegas shooter. When you learn anything new let’s us know.

Opportunity costs. I just gave my students an exam question about that. At least that part of the exam they seem to have mastered.

I would love to know the specifics of this trade.

Because I know what the stock did after you lectured me to short it.

When did you open and close.your position?

I learned a long time ago to always use stop losses as a discipline for when a trade moves against you and to put it back on when the momentum shifts. I've been fortunate to have worked on a trading floor for many years and learn from some pretty good traders.
