I’ll grant you his employees/customers and have said repeatedly that violence and vandalism are not an acceptable way forward. But I will not grant you his company. If Elon cared about Tesla and its well-being, he had many, many options available to him that weren’t publicly calling all government employees and recipients of government aid freeloading losers, calling for judges to be impeached, telling people to go **** themselves for disagreeing with him, doing such an obvious Nazi salute that anybody else making videos of themselves doing it got fired from their jobs, trolling on Twitter all day, lying about/exaggerating his accomplishments, hiring a team of weirdos with dubious pasts that he weirdly defends, pretending to be good at video games by paying people to play for him, retaining his position as CEO of his companies while not performing the role, insulting a significant portion of his original customer base, etc.
Whether you agree with all of these bullet points or think he’d be wrong for doing any of them, these are not the actions of a CEO that cares about the long-term success of his companies and is committed to maintaining it. While I hope the violence stops and any employees potentially affected by any fluctuations in the performance of his companies find something stable, I am not going to care about the success of Tesla when Elon Musk has put his own ego and public image above it.
